Tribe of the Red Horse - Neil Young Tribute
Tribe of The Red Horse delivers the guitar tone, harmonies and raw energy that Neil Young and Crazy Horse are known and loved for. Or, as the band’s singer/guitarist, Wayne Whitzell puts it, “We don’t play dress-up. We play rock ’n’ roll.”
Whitzell adds, the band “is a true testament to the power and importance of Neil’s music. Our set lists reach deep into the archives with a blend of feel-good songs and Young’s more political songs. “We consciously chose the ‘Live Rust’ album as the epicenter of the show because it is a seminal moment for Neil and then we radiate backward and forward from there,” Whitzell explains. ”We want to take a snap shot in time of different eras and reproduce them with emotional accuracy.” Throughout the performance, the band also plays notable audio clips from Woodstock and Martin Luther King to segue way between songs. We bring a blazing full throttle show of Crazy Horse material,” Whitzell laughs, “We have to shake the building’s foundation a little or it wouldn’t be Crazy Horse.”
Since forming in the summer of 2011, Tribe of the Red Horse has performed throughout Northern California at well-known venues such as the Sacramento Music Festival, Miner’s Foundry, Sutter Creek Theater, Marilyn’s on K in Sacramento, Powerhouse and Creekside Fridays in Mill Valley, all the while steadily growing a fan base that Whitzell says appeals to both boomers and 20-somethings who have also discovered Neil Young’s music.

Conjunto Liberation – Hot Salsa
The Sacramento based Conjunto Liberacion, is a 9 piece Salsa Band comprised of musicians of different ethnic backgrounds who grew up listening to and now enjoy playing salsa music. Conjunto Liberacion’s repertoire is heavily influenced by the New York City sound of 70’ & 80’ groups like Fania Allstars, Sonora Ponceña, Gran Combo, and Willie Colon & Ruben Blades.
Led by Hector Conde (timbales) and Marco Valle (congas), the group also consists of: Eddie Vidales, (bass), Doug Matson, (piano), Ness Guzman, (vocals), Ted Vega, (vocals), and is backed by the experienced horn section of Jose Hernandez, (tenor sax), Mike Breit, (trumpet), and Steve Gonsoulin, (trombone).
Conjunto Liberacion loves to share their passion and their music with dancers and listeners with the same interest and passion for this genre of music. Their main objective is to bring enjoyment thru their music and simply to make people dance… “Salsa Pa’l Bailador”

Gator Nation – Cajun, Zydeco
Gator Nation, formerly known as Gator Beat, the West Coast’s premiere Cajun, Zydeco, and New Orleans R&B band, is a hand-clapping, foot-stomping, high energy concert and dance band. With the same survival instinct as its namesake, Gator Nation continues to adapt itself to its audiences, always with something fresh yet true to its calling. That calling is to represent the music of South Louisiana in all its forms, Cajun, Zydeco, and New Orleans style. They have the talent and diversity to do so, to express the nuances that define the genres. The result is a remarkable show with so much variety and depth that at the end of the show, the Gator Nation Band leaves you happy and hollerin’ “Gimme Some Mo”!

Achilles Wheel – High-Energy Roots, World & Rock
Achilles Wheel is a California based rock and roll band that blurs the lines between genres and fuses an infectious blend of Roots and World Music Rockadelia.Their sound comes across as both Old School and New School and is riddled with great songwriting. The one thing that rises to the surface as you get to know this band is that supporting the benefit of our human condition is foremost in their work. They play hard as a way to break down walls and celebrate life. The idealism that they embraced as younger men has not diminished in the harsh light of the modern world as we struggle to live freely and have a good time, and in the end, hopefully matter. Achilles Wheel fearlessly sings out to these times.
The new Achilles Wheel CD, “Devil in the Yard,” was released in March. Read the fabulous review of the band’s third album by Dylan Muhlberg here:
